My Mohawk. . . R.I.P.

Well, today is my wife's birthday. . .

For the past few years I have kept my head shaved - until April Fool's Day of last year.
During the month of March, I let my hair grow a little, and on April 1st I cut my hair, leaving a mohawk, just to tease my wife. Imagine my surprise when she told me that I may as well keep it, while we are traveling. So, I did! :-)

My wife really didn't care for my mohawk, however she knew that I had always wanted one [for whatever reason, I really couldn't tell you] and she just went with it - until my mohawk started to grow out.

As my mohawk grew, I began to spike it, and my wife really didn't like that - so, today, one of her birthday wishes was for me to cut my mohawk. I figured that I've had it long enough, so we made an event out of it, letting all 4 of my kids cut my mohawk down to the scalp, so that I can start shaving my head again. . .

I just wanted to document this sad occasion ;-)

I hear ya. I had long hair back in the day, and right before my daughter was born I decided to chop the whole thing off and go with a shaved head. Never looked back, so much easier.

Wow... that was over 13 years ago now. Time freaking flies.

I hope you took the hair, put it in a paper boat, and gave it the viking burial in a local pond. And happy birthday to the missus...

Wings,

I too had long hair back in the day - I cut mine, shortly before I got married :-)

I totally agree - a shaved head is, without a doubt, the best way to go! Easy Peasy!

Bo,

I so should have done that!
[I was laughing out loud at your comment] :-)

Also, my wife says thank you. . .

I observed a moment of silence for your mohawk today. At least we still have your profile photo to fondly remember it.

Ah, how sweet - Thanks Lisa! ;-)

Yes, I may leave it up a little bit longer, for nostalgic effect :-)
