Review:
When I attended Florida's ScreamFest Horror Convention, in 2007 - director Marcus Koch [and crew] were there, premiering this film. However, as is such the case at many a convention, I had to pick & choose against conflicting schedules. This film premiered against David Arquette's The Tripper, and David Arquette just happened to be on hand, introducing his film, with a Q & A afterwards - so, I chose to see The Tripper [another 4 Skulls movie, by the way] instead, and so I had to wait for this one to arrive on DVD - and finally it did, just last month, I believe. . .

Marcus Koch has certainly come a long way since his debut film Rot [not to be confused with ROT: Reunion of Terror] Honestly, all I remember about Rot was when a punk, with a mohawk, was decapitated and his friends duct-taped his head back onto his neck - HA! :-)
Growing up in Florida, I had the pleasure of being very good friends with William Cassinelli, who worked in the independent horror film industry. Being friends with Bill, I was introduced to others in the business, such as veteran B-movie actor Joel D. Wynkoop and directors Mike Hoffman and Tim Ritter, as well as others. . . [I mention this only to give an understanding as to why I did not see this film at ScreamFest]

I have a picture of me & Gurdy, somewhere, but I can't find it - so here's a picture of Gurdy killing B-movie-actor Joel D. Wynkoop instead :-)

This film is rated NC-17 [for extreme horror violence] and for good reason! Marcus [who also did the f/x work in the film] didn't hold back on the blood & gore in this film, that's for sure!

This film tells the story of Luther Edward Baxter [aka Gurdy the Clown - aka The Tear Drop Killer] Gurdy has been slicing & dicing people [with the biggest meat cleaver that you have ever seen!] for nearly 20 years, when tabloid newspaper reporters Mark & Jen [who just so happen to be writing an expose on serial killers] stumble across the case. . .

This film definitely has enough killings & gore to appease any gore-hound out there! When the kills happen, they happen fast & furiously! In the beginning of the film, Gurdy goes on a killing spree, wiping out an entire half-way house [at least 10 people] in mere minutes! [this scene probably has my favorite kill in the film, one where a girl, in her pajamas, is running from Gurdy. Gurdy catches her in mid turn/stride, slicing her [with his HUGE meat cleaver] across her abdomen - blood splatters the wall, and the girl's intestines just spill out of her vicious wound] This is definitely a sick & brutal film! [not for the squeamish!]

I was going to post the "gore" trailer for the film - but it showed too many of the killings - so here's the original trailer:

With all of the re-makes, etc out there right now, this one is definitely an original and refreshing flick! [In my opinion, Gurdy is right up their with our other iconic slasher figures!]

Also, if you watch through the credits, [did I mention Voltaire's "When You're Evil" plays during the credits?] at the very end of the credits, the title 100 Tears turns into 200 Tears! Definitely a sequel that I will be looking forward to!

Jason,

Thanks for the shout out! Marcus is also a bud of mine (I got to sit in on the DVD commentary for ROT, with Joel).

100 Tears was a great movie, and hopefully others will take note of it, too.

Cool Bill :-)

As much as I enjoyed The Tripper, I would not have been disappointed, either way, had I chose to see this one instead. . .

Later!
